Summary:
Responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Parts are machined to the precise specifications on the prints provided.


Essential Functions:
Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of machining theory and principles.
Machines details to specified tolerances based on machining best practices
Designs and builds fixtures required to properly build detail to specified tolerances
Analyzes drawings supplied by mechanical engineers and gives advice for process and efficiency improvements.
Review engineering drawing to determine the need for modifications required to satisfy the specific detail build.
Notify supervisor of potential issues related to specific detail build and corrective action required to remedy the issue.

Responsibilities:
Jig and fixture assembly and debug
Gage assembly and debug
Equipment maintenance and repair
Basic process flow for production machining


Job
Qualifications:
10 plus years' experience required
Experience operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other tool room equipment3.
Baseline experience with Cam programming, set-up, and CNC operation is a plus
Vocational school or junior technical college training in the related industry
Ability to work unsupervised and manage a machining project from start to finish
Satisfactory completion of formal apprenticeship training program or tenured experience in the related industry
Meets company's substance abuse testing requirements; as a safety sensitive person, may be subject to random substance abuse checks
Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required

Benefits for position include paid vacation, sick time, medical/life/disability insurance, and 401k with match. Hourly wage based on experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
