Sr. Design/Mechanical Engineer
Kennedy is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to lead our Engineering team!
Kennedy Manufacturing, located in Van Wert, OH, is an industry leader in steel tool chests, roller cabinets, stationary and mobile workbenches, modular storage cabinets and tool storage for the NC/CNC machining world. Engineering Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Leads the engineering department in formulating designs, cost estimates, and specifications through application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures.
2. Hands on with design work
3. Approves process specification and design standards.
4. Reviews engineering designs for neatness and accuracy.
5. Oversees preparation and control of department budget.
6. Key support around customer quality issues, internal plant operations.
7. Provide support to product management around all new product research.
8. Manager contributor of the stage gate process. Will provide the necessary support for the critical gates that require needed attention around product prototypes, designing that will provide the features that exceed customers unmet needs.
9. Accountable for the managing and further enhancements to all ECN/ECR changes.
Required Education and
Experience:
o Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related technical field.
o 5
years of progressive leadership experience in Engineering
o Developing customer focus including specification development.
o Good analytical and structured problem solving techniques including root cause analysis.
o A drive for continuous improvement.
o Energetic, highly self-motivated, and able to work efficiently and productively in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills and
Experience:
o A strategic thinker with sound technical skills, highly analytical ability, good judgment, strong operational focus and a creative thinker.
o Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
o Well organized.
o Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others.
o Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
o High integrity and honesty with a commitment to company values.
o Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
